Polymer clay is a versatile, synthetic modeling material composed of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), plasticizers, and pigments (for color). Once baked and cured, polymer clay becomes a durable and lightweight material suitable for jewelry and crafts. Sometimes we add paint, shimmy mica powder, and other materials.
-
No! Polymer clay earrings are generally lightweight, and they will not weigh your earlobes down, making them comfortable for extended wear. Polymer clay earrings generally weigh less than a quarter (or 2oz). Clay earrings are lighter than metal or ceramic alternatives. Please note, that earrings with metal accents will may be slightly heavier.
-
Yes! Polymer clay earrings are durable and resilient. They will have a slight bend and can flex (but not too much or they will snap). Clay jewelry can withstand wear and handling. With proper care, your clay earrings can maintain their beauty and shape over time.
-
Yes and no. Finished polymer clay earrings will have a slight bend but they are not flexible (do not bend a lot). They should maintain a solid and stable form, providing durability and structure.
-
Your earrings shouldn’t fade over time as long as you don’t store them in direct sunlight.
-
It’s advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to water to protect the metal and posts from tarnishing. Remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, bathing, or participating in water activities. Water can weaken the glue adhesive and can break. If wet, wipe with a damp cloth for cleaning.
-
Treat your earrings with kindness and care!
Handle with Care: While durable, avoid dropping or bending the earrings to prevent breakage.
Store Properly: Store earrings in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight to maintain their shape and color.
Clean Gently: Use a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe the earrings. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning agents.
Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Keep earrings away from extreme heat or cold, as these can affect the integrity of the clay.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! Please reach out to me at covencrafted.official@gmail.com within 14 days of your purchase with a photo of the broken item so that I can inspect it. If it was a fault on my end (I'm still new to polymer clay/baking) I will replace your order at no cost to you.
If the clay snaps and you would like to fix it on your own, you can use a strong super glue or a glue alternative to reattach the pieces.
I can not replace/refund pieces that were damaged due to owner negligence (i.e. swimming, sleeping, direct sunlight, makeup marks, or throwing them into a purse without protection)

Although polymer clay is synthetically made of PVC base, it is not toxic to your hands or earlobes. If worried, consider wearing it for a few minutes before extended wear.
-
Yes! All earrings have hypoallergenic and nickel-free posts. Most earring posts have stainless steel, raw brass, or gold plating. These materials are cost-effective and less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions (compared to nickel).

If skin is exposed to UV Resin (even after being cured correctly) for long periods of time it can cause some people to develop an allergic reaction to the material. This is why we never keep UV Resin exposed on the back of our earrings/or studs. Most of the time our backs are secured by embedding it in the clay, using glue, or if we do use UV Resin, we cover the Resin with an additional coat of sealer. If I do use exposed resin on any jewelry, it will most likely be on dangle or front parts of the jewelry only (where skin isn't likely to touch it for long periods), and will be marked on the item listing.
Below is a list of other creations we make that may include Resin (since these items are not on skin for long periods of time):
- Trinket Trays
- DND dice
- Keychains (to help with durability)

Please make a note of the item name and color and e-mail me at covencrafted.official@gmail.com. Most of the time I will be able to restock the item for you! The majority of my designs are made-to-order, which means they are made especially for you once you place an order. Occasionally the jewelry is made as small batches, which means I will not be able to produce more of that same item. We suggest following Coven Crafted on Instagram or Facebook.
